About CatsLib

CatsLib is a simple, human-friendly cat encyclopedia: breeds, behavior, names, food safety, and practical guides for people who actually live with cats.

We focus on clarity, fast answers, and clean design — no confusing jargon and no overwhelming walls of text.

How it started

CatsLib started with one small idea. I’m Artsiom Dusau, a software engineer, and I have a cat named Cake. I originally wanted to build a lightweight calculator to estimate carbs in cat food (dry matter) — fast, simple, and actually usable.

Over time the project grew. One question led to another: food safety, common behaviors, breed traits, care basics. CatsLib gradually became a structured knowledge base for everyday cat owners.

Our goal

  • Fast, clear answers you can act on
  • Plain language without medical jargon
  • Helpful structure: quick summary, key risks, best practices
  • Ongoing improvements and updates

Important note

CatsLib is not a veterinary clinic and does not replace professional advice. If your cat is sick, ate something toxic, or has symptoms — contact a veterinarian immediately.

Food safety

Can cats eat…? what to avoid, how to serve, portion guidance.

Behavior & care

Common behaviors explained in plain language with practical tips.
